Bob Duncan - Fine Artist
In 1950 at the Philadelphia Museum school of Art my learning was interrupted by the Korean Conflict.
As a member of the Naval Reserve I took Navy pilot training and flew both with the Navy and subsequently
with TWA. I returned to Art eleven years prior to my retirement. I attended and taught drawing at the
California Art Institute
Blessed with sight the visual world fascinates me. I am basically a realist. I do not pursue art for
sentimental, political or social commentary. I endeavor to be direct without groping for something to say. I
work with varied subjects in many media's on a two dimensional surface and endeavor to be true to these
statements. I must confess, I occasionally slip into the world of Whimsy.
With my methods, when I am able to portray a visual moment in time, I am encouraged. As my viewer,
if you take the time to let your mind play on my work for analysis or amusement that is my reward.
